Meowzie's Cafe is dedicated to the owner's deceased cat, Meowzie. Rest in peace, little guy.

Our Story

My name is Antonio, the owner of Meowzie's Cafe. I am a Mexican-American. My girlfriend, Marrielle, is the manager of the store. As a former college student, I understand the importance of a good study spot to the normal college student. When I took a look at CHMSU and the surrounding area, I understood the need for a place like Meowzie's Cafe. You need a place where you can not only study, but also hang out with your friends. Our space may be small, but we tried to make it as efficient as possible to fit as many students we could. We offer fast Wi-Fi and electrical outlets so that if you have an assignment you need to complete or if you just want to watch Tiktok's - you can do that. I hope that my coffee shop can be your favorite place to hang out near CHMSU! Our cafe is dedicated to my cat Meowzie and our newborn baby daughter, Amy.

Our Drinks & Food

We offer a wide variety of drinks ranging from Iced Lattes to Matcha to even Thai Tea! Initially, the coffee shop was only meant to serve Hot Coffee & Iced Latte's. However, I am someone who likes to switch it up from time to time. In all honesty, my favorite drink is the Spanish Latte but every now and then, I like to get a Matcha Latte - or even something else that seems interesting at the time. That's when we decided to expand our menu offerings and offer alternative drinks like Milk Tea and Matcha. We also pride ourselves on being one of the few places in Negros Occidental (particularly Binalbagan) that offers the rare Thai Tea! We use real tea from Thailand to make our Thai Tea. I first made Thai Tea in 2018 in my apartment in Anaheim, California out of boredom. Overtime, I developed a recipe that I really liked. That same recipe is what we use in Meowzie's Cafe. I hope you like it!

Why Kanlaon Coffee

In America, a lot businesses like to pride themselves on using local ingredients. For us, it a symbol that you're not running a business purely to make money and that you're willing to give back to the community. By serving coffee made purely with Kanlaon Coffee beans, we are supporting local farmers from the Negros region and giving back to this beautiful island. When I first arrived to Negros, I had no idea there was a Volcano on the island but after many Apple notifications warning me of the ash every couple of minutes, I became very aware of it. Having come from a Guatemalan mother, I know that in many cases Volcano = Coffee can be grown. When you drink our lattes, know that you're drinking something that is grown locally by your community.

Our Community

By using coffee beans from Kanlaon's volcanic region, we are supporting local farmers. They could be your brother, your cousin, a friend of a friend, etcetera. We want to make sure we give back to the island of Negros.

Our Commitment to Students

Our small coffee shop is equipped with a table that was custom-designed for the laptop-using student. Our charging ports and fast Wi-Fi (please ask for the password) demonstrate that we care about the environment you study in.
